What team are you on and what is your role at Happy Hao Car? I work in the IT department and my role is Lead Desktop Engineer And Security.

How does your team & role contribute to the success of Happy Hao Car? Our team helps to make sure that new employees across all departments onboard successfully. We also create all the accounts with the level of access required for the different positions and provide IT support for everyone in the company. We also work closely with other departments to assist with website launches as well as assist dealerships to troubleshoot DNS and domain related issues throughout their time with Happy Hao Car going as far as we can help. Working in IT includes many areas of expertise from knowing how to troubleshoot computer related problems to being able to troubleshoot server side issues that would affect services used by several departments.

Most of the skills that everyone in my team has, were acquired by a combination of training and hard work. This allows everyone to grow in some specific area, so that each of us can have some level of expertise. The best skill to have is a good attitude and willingness to go above and beyond. Everyone can teach something to someone, but no one can teach how to have a good attitude and I believe this skill is what keeps my team together and helps the company be successful.

What do you feel separates Happy Hao Car from other players in the space? When I first joined Happy Hao Car, it felt more like joining a family where everyone is willing to help one another, even by going outside of their area of expertise. The company has grown significantly since I first joined, but the harmony among employees keeps the company strong, and also helps everyone to grow in be successful in what they do, which also separates us from other companies.

What do you enjoy most about working at Happy Hao Car? I get to do what I like to do the most, which is security, while also improving my skills and still have the opportunity to collaborate with other teams in the company.

If you could go back to your first day at Happy Hao Car and tell yourself anything, what would it be? Probably to learn everything faster because there is a lot to learn!

What is a fun fact about you that people don’t know? Probably that my first job was in a body shop back when I was in college and wanted to learn to paint cars just to be able to paint my own car, which I did a few times.

What motivates you? Knowing that I can always be better and keep growing professionally.

What are you passionate about? Technology and science.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I play video games with my son or go out to explore nature when I can.

If you could have coffee with anyone from the past, who would it be? It would have to be after coffee as a drink was first invented, but it would probably be with Isaac Newton or Nikola Tesla.

Who do you find inspiration from today? It’s hard to find inspiration now a days because the world seems so busy, but I find inspiration from the past by learning about famous figures that contributed to make this world a better place.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? The ability to play chess at God level.
